About this Hike
Morning hike Table Mountain via Kloof Corner ridge.
Table Mountain via Kloof Corner ridge hike starts at the lower cable car station and goes straight up the mountain to the Contour Path. Cross it and follow the trail up the ravine. After that, the path veers left. You see a cairn of rocks signaling the start of the Kloof Corner ridge hike. Follow the zigzags up the slope until you reach a gully. Then a short scramble will lead you to a rocky platform. Walk left along the ledge to a long chimney-crack where the first chain is hanging along a narrow crevice. That is to say that upper body strength is important to lift your body along the polished rock. Step up to a ledge and continue to a corner which leads onto the 11-inch chimneys. The second and final chain. This crack splits the rock running through the ridge. Getting through the passage involved standing on rocks wedged into the crack with nothing below them. Wriggle into the chimney and use the chain to propel yourselves altogether up and out the crack to an exposed shelf. Then, over the top of a platform, at this point, the view of the city is 3000 feet below! Continue over small rock steps and toward the main massif along the top of the ridge. The path darts around onto the West and traverses the length of Fountain Ledge simultaneously overlooking Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles Mountain range. Take a moment to catch your breath and soak in the natural beauty.
It’s important to get prepared due to the changing weather conditions. For that reason, dress appropriately in layers and, lastly, carry enough water to stay hydrated.
To conclude, Table Mountain via Kloof Corner Ridge hike is challenging and should therefore only be attempted by experienced hikers.

Cape Escape Tours has to be the best tour you could ever be on. Patrick makes your day. On timepick up, polite, knowledgeable, great driver. understands… read more the client, responds to any request, flexible. Full day tour to the cape of good hope with a great hike to the lighthouse. Had ample time for shopping and lunch. A wonderful stop @ Boulders Beach to visit penguins and a love at first site to see Simons Town. Was sad to leave at the end of the day. Any tour would be great but I’d say full days are the greatest. Going back to Cape Town I’d book everyday with him. Thank you Patrick for being amazing keep on being you as you are simply the best.

I had the pleasure to (try) the “Mini” peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was… read more his only guest, so we had lot’s of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short…), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!asseeger
