Chapman's Peak Trail Run
Chapman’s Peak Trail running tour is offering an exhilarating outdoor experience.
The Chapman’s Peak trail run takes you high above Chapman’s Peak Drive, offering stunning views throughout. Starting from Chapman’s Peak Road, the path leads you along the mountainside, gradually ascending as you leave the road behind and immerse yourself in nature.
Into the Wild: Ravines, Views, and Vegetation
The initial section weaves through lush vegetation, additionally providing shade and cool temperature. The course weaves in and out of wooded ravines, offering unforgettable panoramas of the ocean and coastline. As you continue, the views become even more stunning, especially when you spot the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive winding dramatically along the cliffs below.
The route follows a mix of rocky terrain and single track providing, all in all, some serious challenges. Encountering some steep ascents and descents making it a demanding run that requires both physical and mental stamina.
Along the way, you may come across small streams adding to the natural beauty of the surroundings. As the trail gradually ascends, it eventually reaches a high point.
Reaching the Summit: Panoramic Payoff
As a result, you be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Hout Bay and the surrounding mountains. At this stage, take a moment to pause, soak in the scenery and catch your breath before moving on. From this point, the path gradually descends, leading you back towards Chapman’s Peak Road. The descent can be technical in places, so it’s important to stay focused.
A Must-Do Trail Run Experience

Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!
