About this Trail Run
The contour Path trail run offers an exciting adventure.
With a distance of 12 kilometers, our Table Mountain trail looks like an accessible course, but the narrow and technical terrain make it a challenging experience. The Contour Path has exposed sections, steep inclines and rocky terrain. Therefore, it is important to be cautious. The trail starts at Table Mountain lower cable car station. The ascents are straight up through a series of steps, therefore requiring a bit of effort. Once you conquer the first initial ascent, and you have reached the Contour Path, the fun starts. The path run along the front slopes of Table Mountain, allowing you to find your rhythm and to warm your muscles.
The trail undulates as you follow the contour line of the mountain. The combination of elevation consequently makes for an engaging and dynamic running experience. Above all, adjusting your effort and pacing accordingly is necessary.
The ever-changing scenery provides constant motivation and inspiration as you push yourself forward. The vegetation along the path is diverse and rich. Running amidst this natural beauty certainly adds an extra level of serenity and connection with the environment.
The duration of the run varies on your fitness level, pace and the number of stops you make. On average, completing a 12-kilometer route can take around 3 hours. Carry enough water. In other words, stay hydrated, wear appropriate trail running shoes with good grip and bring a windbreaker, be mindful of the weather conditions.
All in all, Table Mountain Contour Path Trail Run requires physical strength and good trail running skills. As a result, more result for experienced runners.
Ready to embrace the challenge, book through our website and join us on our Table Mountain Contour Path. Take in the stunning scenery and enjoy the thrill of trail running on Table Mountain.

I had the pleasure to (try) the “Mini” peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was… read more his only guest, so we had lot’s of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short…), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!
